 MARK FREDRICK FRASER REMEMBRANCE FUND
To Provide Significant Funding For Overall Project Cost Of A Newly Designed And Constructed Stretching Area At Memorial Park
The Mark F. Fraser Remembrance Fund has been established by HARRA (Houston Area Road Runners Assoc.) to provide significant funding for the overall cost of a newly designed and constructed Stretching Area at Memorial Park. In cooperation with Kirksey Architecture , the Memorial Park Conservancy and the Houston Parks and Recreation Department a donation will be made by HARRA in the remembrance of Mark Fraser. Mark F Fraser Biography
The Houston Chronicle acknowledged Mark Fraser as one of 29 noteworthy Houstonians who died in 2011. He was a leader in, and a passionate supporter of, the Houston running community, having served as President of Bayou City Road Runners (BCRR) and as VP of Communications for HARRA. An accomplished runner, Fraser was a proud finisher of the Leadville Trail 100 Mile Run and the Arkansas Traveler 100 Mile Run, a 13 year Houston Marathon Veteran, and the winner of BCRR Runner of the Season for three consecutive years. He was always ready to help with any task, whether leading a committee, serving as an emcee or repairing a deck before a BCRR party. Most notable was his willingness to lend a helping hand and his enthusiasm for virtually any project. He was fearless when it came to tackling any challenging project or anything challenging. He performed a standup comedy routine at a local comedy club and wrote, produced and directed a musical parody entitled Enron--the Musical. As an award-winning (Lone Star Award) magazine columnist, he wrote the runners' perspective in the "Running Debate" published in Texas Runner and Triathlete magazine. During his business career Mark worked as a manufacturers' representative for Butcher Company and Swatzell Sales. Born on September 2, 1956, in East Liverpool, OH. Mark grew up in Ohio and later moved to Houston with his family. Mark is the father of three children, Tim, Mike, and Traci.

"He formed wonderful friendships and memories while running at Memorial Park, and he would be honored to be remembered in this way.
